Smith Racing Team to Attend October “Fast” Races
La Vernia, Texas (10/06/06) – Cody Smith and the Smith Racing Team will be racing this weekend at the Tenth Annual San Antonio Speedway (SAS) October “Fast”.
Smith has focused a majority of this racing season to Texas Super Racing Series (TSRS) Late Model division. Smith will compete in the Road Runner division for this weekend’s racing. Earlier this season, Smith won two feature races on the same night in the Road Runner division at SAS. The Smith Family Racing Team is no stranger to the SAS high banks. Cody’s brother Jeff, won the Charger Stock division championship in 2003.
“We need to get our momentum back as a team”, stated team owner Tom Smith. “Not only does Cody need to turn some laps to knock some rust off after his time off, we need to remember how to be a successful race team. We are involved in a great point’s battle in TSRS and want to stay focused on that, but at the same time we want to try to have fun at SAS this weekend.”
Smith returns to TSRS racing action in two weeks when the series returns to Houston Motorsports Park on October 21, 2006.
