Texas Super Racing Series Drivers Prepared for KTSA 75

By: Pat Mayberry

San Antonio, TX (September 1, 2006) - The stars of the Texas Super Racing Series will return to the friendly confines of Thunder Hill Raceway in Kyle, TX. this Saturday night, September 2nd, for the KTSA 75. With only three races left of the schedule tensions are running high for the top teams in the series.

After back to back rough races for current Texas Super Racing Series point leader, rookie standout Cody Smith has closed the points gap to a mere 14
points. The entire top six are separated by only 127 points headed into the race. Defending series champion, Chris Schild trails Gural by only 38
points in third. Rookie Kyle Sirizzotti trails Gural by 75 points for the fourth spot and trails Smith in the TXRacing.com Rookie of the Year battle by 61 points. Teresa Gural continues to have a historic season for a female driver in a Texas touring class following her TSRS career best second place effort at Houston two weeks ago and still is holding on to the fifth spot. Ian Webster holds down the sixth spot 127 points off the lead.

Gural already has two victories this season at Thunder Hill Raceway and must be considered a threat. With seven career wins at THR, Gural is always tough to beat on his home track. Smith also has a win from the Texas World Speedway road course race and has two top five finishes at THR this season. With the point chase being so tight, a mistake by anyone in the top six could shuffle everyone.
