USRA Texas Two-Step Nationals Rescheduled to August 5

San Antonio, TX (June 17, 2006) – The second segment of the United States Racing Association (USRA) Texas Two-Step Nationals “TexasSpeedZone.Com 150” has been rescheduled to Saturday, August 5, at San Antonio Speedway.

The first segment of the Texas Two-Step Nationals was held on June 10 at Texas Motor Speedway and was won by Chris Davidson.

The USRA Super Late Models were originally scheduled to run the second segment of the Texas Two-Step Nationals at the high-banked, half-mile San Antonio paved oval tonight, Saturday, 17, 2006, but unfavorable weather conditions forced a postponement of the race.

The August 5 date was chosen because the USRA Super Late Models were already scheduled to appear at San Antonio Speedway on that night. However, instead of getting the usual purse on August 5, the USRA Super Late Model drivers will be awarded the increased Texas Two-Step purse amounts. The winner will take home $5,000.

An additional $5,000 will also be awarded if the same driver wins both segments of the race. Since Davidson won the first segment of the Texas Two-Step Nationals at Texas Motor Speedway, he is the only driver that will be eligible for the bonus award.

Racing action will resume at San Antonio Speedway this coming Saturday night, June 24. The USRA Modifieds and USRA Trucks will headline a full racing program along with the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Late Model, SAS Sportsman, Road Runner and Grand Stock classes.

The grandstand gates will open at 5:00 p.m. Qualifying will start at 6 p.m., and the first green flag will drop at 7 p.m.

San Antonio Speedway is the only NASCAR sanctioned short-track in the state of Texas. It is located 3.5 miles south of Loop 410 on State Highway 16 South towards Poteet, near the new Toyota facility.
