ASCS Gulf South Adds South Texas Speedway Event
Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (June 2, 2006) The American Sprint Car Series Gulf South Region has added an event to the schedule, with the series taking to South Texas Speedway in Corpus Christi, TX, on Monday night, July 3.
The event atop the semi-banked, ¼-mile dirt oval will feature a $2,000 winner’s share, with $300 to start the feature event. All non-qualifiers will receive $200.
With the addition, the 2006 ASCS Gulf South Regional schedule consists of 22 events at ten different tracks throughout Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas.
In its 15th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing in the United States, the American Sprint Car Series will present approximately 180 nights of racing in 2006 including the National Tour and its Regional Tours (Gulf South, Mid-South, Midwest, Northern Plains, Patriot Sprint Group, Rocky Mountain, Sooner, Southern and Sprints on Dirt).
