All the Egg-berts in one Basket
The 18-car IMCA Modified main saw John Bolfing and Stephen Carter lead the way at the start of the 20 lap event. Bolfing was first into turn 1, but it was G W Egbert from row two getting the lead coming out of turn 2. Kenny Stone took second from Bolfing on lap 1, with a three wide scramble for sixth. G W Egbert and Stone began to creep away from the pack on lap 3 when Carter got together with P J Egbert and spun in turn 4 for a yellow. Pat McGuire and Trevor Egbert got by Bolfing on the restart in turns 1-2. Bolfing then got sideways in turn 3 and was tapped by Estes to finish sending him around.
Once back to green G W Egbert got a good jump on Stone, while T Egbert took third from McGuire. P J Egbert was using the high side to his advantage as he worked his way forward. P J Egbert and Justin Radcliff were side by side for fifth on lap 8. McGuire retook third from T. Egbert on lap 9. At the crossed flags it was G W Egbert, Stone, McGuire, T. Egbert and Radcliff in the top five. On lap 11 the leader, G W Egbert, ran into heavy traffic, while cousin P J was blasting by both T. Egbert and McGuire for third.
Scotty Brown, who also found the high groove to his liking, was fighting with past champion, Keith Green for seventh on lap 13. Mike Thompson spun in turn 4 on lap 16 to bring out the final yellow and set up a shootout to the finish.G W Egbert got a good lead on Stone as green waved again using a lap car as a buffer. P J Egbert got by Stone on lap 17 to snag second. Behind the lead Egbert duo, T. Egbert was wheel to wheel with McGuire for fourth. As the white flew, G W Egbert held a slight advantage over P J Egbert with T. Egbert and McGuire still side by side. At the checkers it fitting that the Iraq war veteran, G W Egbert got the Memorial Day weekend win driving the Big Tex Autoplex, Pro Image Signs and Graphics, Affliated Auto Glass, Hoffman Chassis.

Green Grabs Gold in SportMod Melee
In the caution filled IMCA SportMod feature, Ed Thompson and Terry Buzbee led the 24-car field to green. Thompson got out front on lap, while Dave Stewart got loose stacking the pack up three wide and causing a multi-car tangle behind him. Buzbee challenged Thompson on the high side on lap 2. Keith Green took third from Chris Wills on lap 3, then second from Buzbee a lap later and was looking inside Thompson for the lead. Yellow waved on lap 6 when Eric Tomlinson got into Keith White who spun in between turns 1-2.
Thompson got a good jump on Green, literally, while the field was three wide for fourth and ninth. Yellow was quickly back out when Kevin Green spun in another multi-car melee. Green tried Thompson on the restart but Buzbee spun from third. When the green waved again Shannon Dulock was on the high side getting by Wills for third, but nearly got squeezed into the wall by Green. Before a lap was complete, Brandon Hood and Jimmie Thomas got tangled in turn 4.
Dulock jumped up on the high groove again on the next restart passing Wills again and challenging Green for second, with Thompson still holding the point. After running wheel to wheel with Green on lap 8, Dulock moved along side Thompson for the top spot on lap 9. Just as Dulock was getting by Thompson, Brandon Stewart had the hood sail off on the front stretch to bring out the yellow and negate the pass. On the restart, Green tried to get back under Dulock for second. At halfway the top five were Thompson, Dulock, Green, Wills and Cody Frank.
Dulock charged by Thompson on the top side on lap 11 for the lead. Chad Fitgerald and Jeffery Sheppard were next to tangle as they got together and brought yet another caution. Back to green, it was Green taking a look on Dulock for the lead., while Jeff Turner, Wills and Mark McDaniel ran three abreast for sixth. Wills pulled out of that battle as he rolled to a stop on lap 13 to bring out, you guessed it, the yellow flag.
With the time limit rapidly approching on the race, Green tried again to duck under Dulock on the restart, But Dulock held the spot. With five to go, the lead duo were running different lines as the battle raged for the win. Dulock and Green would go side by side through the turns but Dulock would eke out a slight advantage on the straights. Finally on lap 17 Green got a good enough run on the bottom to edge out Dulock back to the line on lap 18. The duo were back side by side as the white waved, but at the finish it was Green in the Hooters, Finish Line Restoration, Johnny Kellough Motorsports cat taking the checkers.

The 13-car IMCA Stock Car main was paced to green by Chris Lanham and Tommy Honey. Lanham was first out of turn 2, while the pack battled three wide. Lanham and T. Honey went side by side for the lead, as the pack still was running three abreast. Ed Thompson caught T. Honey for second on lap 2 as they fought door to door for second. Chad Estes somehow found a hole and split the Thompson, T. Honey battle down the middle and snared second on lap 3.
Estes used the high side to run down Lanham for the lead on lap 5. Lanham would spin himself out on lap 6 as Estes snuck around for the top spot on lap 7. Jason Honey got by Thompson on lap 7 to take over second. Eric Jones and B J Dulock ran side by side for fourth on lap 9. Shannon Parsons joined the scrap with all three getting around Thompson for third through fifth on lap 10.
Dulock and Parsons were still tied at the door posts for fourth on lap 11. Estes was quickly losing his big lead as J. Honey was gaining. The field got rebunched on lap 13 after Benji Kirkpatrick and and T. Honey made contact sending T. Honey around in tuur 1. On the restart, Parsons and Jones got together with Parsons losing a fender on the track for a quick caution. Once back to green Estes was still out front, with Dulock getting by Jones for third. Robertson got out front as green waved again, with Mark Bullock jr, Nathan Sodek and Chandler Simons trading paint in a scrap for second. Dillon Smith took second from that trio and reeled in Robertson for the lead. Bullock spun on lap 3 in turn 4 for the first caution. On the restart Robertson and Smith were door to door for the top spot in turns 1-2 with Smith getting the advantage on lap 5.
Charles Cosper and Gallimore both got by Robertson for second and third, but Robertson fought back against Gallimore. Gallimore finally securde third on lap 7. Dustin Mickel broke an axle and spun on lap 8 to bring out the yellow. Under caution Cosper pitted from second and pulled off loose sheet metal. On the restart Gallimore spun in the axle grease in turn 1 while running second.
By lap 10, Smith was pulling away and looking to run off with an easy win. But wait..... Robertson, who trying to hold off Sodek and Simons for second began to smoke as he began to leak transmission fluid. As Robertson was getting the black flag for the smoke, Gallimore was spinning in the fluid in turn 3. Smith came sailing into the corner and was unable get turned to avoid Gallimore and the two hit head on putting Smith on the trailer instead of victory lane. Stepen Robison was put out into the lead on the restart and he was able to get away from the second place fight between Sodek and Simons to get the win.
