Icebreaker to Feature Four IMCA classes, February 24-26

Abilene, TX (December 23, 2005) – Four IMCA sanctioned divisions will take to the track for the season opening Ice Breaker special at Abilene Speedway.

Feature events for the Modifieds, Jeff’s Performance Southern SportMods, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 24-26. Modifieds vie for $500 to win and $50 to start all three nights. SportMods and Stock Cars both race for $300 and $50 to start, while the Hobbies square off for $250 to win and $25 paid to start.
Lucas Oil South Central Region, Destroyer Chassis Southern Region and Smiley’s state points will be given all three nights. Jet Racing Northern Region points will be also awarded in the Stock Car division.
Pit gates open at 4 p.m. Friday. Hot laps are at 5:30 p.m., the draw closes at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, pits open at 3 p.m., hot laps are at 5 p.m., the draw closes at 6 p.m. and racing is at 7 p.m.
Sunday’s Ice Breaker itinerary starts with church services at the track at 10 a.m. Pit gates open at 11 a.m., hot laps are at 11:30 a.m., the draw ends at 12:30 p.m. and racing is at 1 p.m.
Gates open at 11 a.m. for noon-4 p.m. practice sessions Sundays Feb. 12 and 19, and at 5 p.m. for 6-10 p.m. practice on Thursday, Feb. 23.
