Jake Wright Captures 2008 Rookie of the Year at Houston Motorsports Park in the Bandolero Division

For Immediate Release:
(November 9, 2008)

Twelve year old Jake Wright started his racing career at the ripe old age of 5, competing on a limited basis in the Quarter Midget series. In 2006 at the Western Quarter Midget Nationals he placed 2nd in the Senior Novice A-Main. His accomplishments for 2007 include; Shootout Super Stock Champion, RCQMA Track Champion in Super Stock, 3rd place Region 6 Super Stock and 2nd place RCMQA Sr. Honda. For 2008 he participated in the first annual Sr. Honda Cup race and won it hands down. This was his final race in Quarter Midgets. He then moved into the Inex sanctioned Bandolero series, driving the number 96 at Houston Motorsports Park and Thunderhill Raceway in Kyle. In his rookie season he’s come in 2nd for three weekly races and has one 3rd place trophy. Jake participated in every race this season.

On November 8th at the season finale he earned the coveted title of Rookie of the Year for Houston Motorsports Park and he snagged a 3rd place track championship standing.

Due to his consistent driving style and ability he has come a long way from where he began at the start of the season. He has captured the attention of the many fans that come to HMP to watch the races and has built up quite a fan base. Since implementing the Driver’s Introduction during intermission he routinely hands out 150 or more pictures and autographs per race. In addition many of the veteran drivers in the Modified’s and ASA Pro Late Models have taken Jake under their wing and given him advice and guidance that Jake has taken to heart and learned from.

Where will this take Jake down the road? It’s anybody’s guess, but if Jake has his way, he would like the opportunity to one day drive in the Nascar series. Most people who follow Nascar know that it can be a long and difficult climb to get into the premier auto racing league but Jake is a young man who sets his sights high and through hard work and determination just may make his dream a reality. Jake is sponsored by Innovative Designs in The Woodlands and Do All Construction in The Woodlands.
