Corpus Christi, Tx.(Aug. 4th, 2007) Saturday night marked the new beginning for Corpus Christi's venerable 1/4 mile high-banked speedway. The area's mainstay of racing over the past six decades has a history as long as the storied drivers that have turned laps, including NASCAR star, Terry Labonte, who won a track championship, as well as Indy car’s A. J. Foyt and Lloyd Ruby.

| San Antonio, TX (July 25, 2007) –Shelma Walton, a San Antonio businesswoman, announced today that she has purchased Corpus Christi Speedway – a popular quarter-mile “bullring” asphalt oval race track that is located less than two miles west of IH-37 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
