Green was quick to show the field he had the truck to beat as he easily grabbed the lead from Bendele going into the first turn. The top four sorted themselves out while defending USRA Truck champion, Shawn Paul Lehman of Manchaca, and the previous USRA Truck Series race winner, Jody Buzbee of Waco, ran side by side for fifth. Lehman and Buzbee continued their on track battles which carried over from the previous USRA Truck race two weeks earlier. Lehman finally secured the fifth spot on lap 4, while the top-four built a good lead. With Green in the wind, Bendele, Bryan Meredith and Craig Roper battled for second. Green continued to put distance on the pack with Roper turning the heat up on Meredith for third. Roper took looks low in the turns as the scrap continued for several laps. It was nearly three wide for second as Roper ducked under Meredith at the same time Meredith was trying to pry his way under Bendele. Meredith finally got by Bendele on lap 19 with Roper following through to third leaving Bendele door to door with Lehman for fourth. Lehman got by on lap 20 as Bendele fell into the clutches of Buzbee and Rusty Mirth of Austin. Coming to the crossed flags Green held a four-second advantage on Meredith and Roper, who had earned a gap from Lehman, Bendele, Buzbee and Mirth who were running nose-to-tail. The race’s only yellow waved on lap 30 to check the truck of Buzbee, who had a bumper cover coming loose. Buzbee was sent to the pits for repairs. On the restart, Green got a jump on Meredith and Roper who ran side-by-side for a lap or two until Roper managed to squeeze by on the back stretch. With ten to go, Green had rebuilt a margin to about a second and a half over Roper. The gap stabilized in the final laps while Meredith, Lehman and Mirth battled for third. As the white flag waved it was about the same margin, with the fight still being for third. When the checkers waved it was Green in the Magnum Trailer, Royal Vista Homes, Smokey J BBQ, ARTS Chassis with a crate motor taking the win by 1.35 seconds. Results of the Magnum Trailers 50 1.
