Multiple wins pay off with Abilene Ice Breaker bonuses

Public Relations (319) 472-2201, x225 Multiple wins pay off with Abilene Ice Breaker bonuses ABILENE, Texas (Feb. 13) – Winning twice, or sweeping the weekend’s feature events in any I.M.C.A. division pays off with a bonus, as well as bragging rights at Abilene Speedway’s Ice Breaker special. On tap Friday through Sunday, Feb. 25-27, the Ice Breaker sports feature races all three nights for the sanc-tioned Modifieds, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and Southern SportMods. Modifieds will race for $500 to win and $50 to start all three days. First place money for both the Stock Cars and Southern SportMods is $300, with $50 to start. Hobby Stocks run for $250 to win and $25 to start. Any Modified driver who wins two of the three nights pockets an additional $250. The well-deserved bonus doubles to $500 for a sweep of the weekend main events. Stock Car and Southern Sportmod drivers receive a $150 bonus for two feature wins and $300 for a sweep. Bonuses for the Hobby Stocks are $125 for two feature wins and $250 for three victories. National, regional and state points will be given all three nights. Jet Racing Northern Region points will be also awarded to Stock Car drivers from that region who make the tow to Abilene. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25. Hot laps are at 5:30 p.m., the draw closes at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, Feb. 26, pits open at 3 p.m., hot laps are at 5 p.m., the draw closes at 6 p.m. and races get underway at 7 p.m. The Sunday, Feb. 27 schedule starts with church serv-ices at the track at 10 a.m. Pit gates open at 11 a.m., hot laps are at 11:30 a.m., the draw ends at 12:30 p.m. and racing is at 1 p.m. Questions about the Ice Breaker, presented by Jeff’s Performance Automotive and Smiley’s Racing Products, can be directed to promoter Rob Poor at (325) 695-2369 or (325) 692-8800.
