Fort Worth, TX (February 19, 2008) – The stage has been set for area racers to battle for the championship title in the annual Pro-Cuts Texas World Dirt Track Championship Feb. 28 through March 1 at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track.
The Pro-Cuts Texas World Dirt Track Championship is a three-day event that is expecting more than 200 competitors in two different racing classes – Modifieds and Limited Modifieds. Last year’s event attracted over 175 competitors, making it the second largest dirt modified event in the United States behind the IMCA Super Nationals in Boone, Iowa. This year’s event is expected to once again be one of the premier dirt modified events in the United States.
Several top area racers are set to compete in the Pro-Cuts Texas World Dirt Track Championship, including Fort Worth resident Troy Taylor. Taylor returns to the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track looking to continue where he left off last year. Taylor claimed the Modified Championship during last fall’s IMCA Lone Star Nationals at the Texas
Motor Speedway Dirt Track. Taylor is scheduled to compete in both the Pro-Cuts Modified and Limited Modified divisions and searching for a possible championship sweep.
The nightly action kicks off Thursday, Feb. 28 with heat races and “B” and “C” Qualifiers for both classes. Qualifying races will continue Friday, Feb. 29, and the Pro-Cuts Texas World Dirt Track Championship titles will be decided Saturday, March 1.
The Pro-Cuts Texas World Dirt Track hampionship is expected to attract drivers from throughout Texas as well as the surrounding regions, including Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, New Mexico, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska. Gates open
each day at 4 p.m. CT.
Tickets are available through participating Pro-Cuts locations in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Purchase $15 of product or services at a Pro-Cuts outlet and receive two tickets to the event.
